Biography

Franck Jovanovic is a Full Professor in Economics and Finance at the School of Administrative Sciences of TELUQ University (the University of Québec’s Distance Learning) and research associate at the GRANEM, Université d’Angers (France). He was previously Associate Professor in Finance at University of Leicester School of Management (U.K.). He was also a research associate at the Laboratoire d’économie d’Orléans, Université d’Orléans (France) from 2005 to 2023.

He holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the Université de Paris I - Sorbonne and was awarded with two MAs in Economics from the Université de Paris I - Sorbonne, one in Finance and the other one in Economic Methodology. Franck has been a visiting professor in several universities, such as Institut Universitaire d’Abidjan (Ivory Coast), University of Leicester School of Management (U.K.), Université d’Orléans (France), Université d’Angers (France), RMIT (Vietnam). He also taught in HEC Montréal, UQAM, Université York, Université Paris 1 - Sorbonne, Université d’Évry.
For several years, Franck has been an expert for private companies and organisations, such as the OECD, the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Industry (France), Organisme d’autoréglementation du courtage immobilier du Québec (OACIQ), Hydro-Québec, Industrielle Alliance, the Agence Française de Développement (France), CRCC – Commissaires aux comptes (Auditors) (France), Fédération Française de la Franchise - French Federation of Franchise (France).

His research mainly focuses on:
 Offshore finance and tax havens
 Econophysics and financial economics
 History of financial economics

He has received several subventions for his research, in particular from SSHRC (Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council) and from FQRSC (Fonds québécois de recherche sur la société et la culture)
